Way Out Comics is an independent publishers of comic books and graphic novels by Julie Yeh and Jack Hsu. The contents of our publications reflect our personal tastes and experiences growing up outside the U.S.

In 2003, Poppie's Adventures: Serpents in Paradise won the Xeric Foundation Award. The story details the adventures of 17 year old travel writer, Poppie Field and her photographer sidekick Ham who find themselves in the midst of a nefarious plot which threatens the Island of Hawaii. The story was written by Julie Yeh who grew up in North Africa where she was introduced to great European comics, in particular Herge's The Adventures of Tintin.

8-9-3
is an edgy graphic novel about the criminal underworld of Japanese Yakuza. The first of the four part series debuted at the 2004 San Diego Comicon. We are expecting to publish the rest of the series by early 2007. The story was written and illustrated by Jack Hsu who grew up in Asia and received a healthy dose of Manga and Hong Kong cinema.
